DriveGet FAQ

How much can I earn as a self-employed driver on DriveGet?+

You set your own rate, starting from £12/hr, and you keep 85% of the driver-rate line on every completed job. The 15% platform fee covers escrow, insurance verification, dispute handling and support. There is no signup fee and no subscription.

How do I list my van and what does it pay?+

List your van from £20/hr and keep 85% of the rental line. Every listing includes GPS tracking and a digital key locker handover, and MOT, tax and insurance are verified automatically before the vehicle goes live.

When do escrow payouts land?+

Customer funds are held in escrow before the job starts and released the day after each job is confirmed complete, so drivers and van owners are never chasing invoices.

What licence do I need to drive on DriveGet?+

A full UK photocard licence with Category B entitlement covers vans up to 3.5t. Category C1 (up to 7.5t) and C (rigid) unlock larger vehicles and higher rates. Entitlement is verified against DVLA at signup and re-checked monthly.

Is cargo insured?+

Yes — goods-in-transit cover is applied to every booking, with higher tiers selectable at checkout. Drivers and fleets hold their own hire-and-reward and public liability policies, which we verify before a profile goes live.

Do I need my own van to drive?+

No. You can accept driver-only jobs in your own vehicle, or take a bundle where DriveGet pairs you with a listed van from a nearby fleet owner.

What does the 15% platform fee cover?+

Escrow and payments, DVLA and DVSA verification, ID and right-to-work checks, live tracking, VAT invoicing, dispute resolution and UK-based support.

How quickly can a customer book me?+

As soon as your profile is verified you appear in local search. Same-day matching is typical in urban centres; scheduled bookings can be made up to six weeks ahead.

Can I get VAT invoices for business bookings?+

Yes — every completed booking generates a VAT invoice under your business profile, downloadable as PDF or exportable to Xero and QuickBooks.
